So what is the CSDDD?

The CSDDD requires companies to identify and prevent, bring to an end, or mitigate the negative impacts that their operations have on the environment and human rights. It is an EU-wide mandate for companies to establish a corporate ‘Due Diligence Duty’ for their own operations and for their extended supply chains.

Suppliers Mapped

Here's how Sourcemap can help:

benefits:

01

Mapping

Sourcemap registers suppliers and requests information on the upstream supply chain in order to quickly identify tier-2 suppliers, and repeats the process until all raw materials sources are mapped.

02

Watchlist

Sourcemap scans the supplier map as it evolves against an aggregate watchlist of more than 70,000 suppliers, including banned entities and their affiliates.

03

Scope 3 Carbon

There is no more accurate source of data for calculating scope-3 carbon than sub-suppliers themselves, who can all upload data in response to automatic RFI's in Sourcemap.

04

Legality

Sub-suppliers may not be subject to a company's code of conduct, but Sourcemap can collect basic business information to verify the status of every stakeholder in the supply chain.

05

Heat Maps

Assign risk scores to your extended supply chain by automatically mapping every facility against authoritative risk heat maps for social, environmental and operational risks.

06

Audit Trail

Sourcemap is a system of record, which means that all changes are tracked and all data is cross-referenced to build a robust audit trail for internal and external investigations.

How does CSDD relate to the EU’s Forced Labor Ban proposal?

The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive is critically important to the forthcoming EU Forced Labor Ban (expected in 2024). The forced labor ban is being referred to as a “mechanism” for CSDDD, meaning the due diligence requirements for social and environmental risk under CSDDD will structure the forced labor ban.
