[The SupplyChainBrain Podcast] There Are No Shortcuts to Supply Chain Due Diligence

When it comes to unethical behavior by one’s supply chain partners, no matter how deep up the tiers you go, ignorance is no excuse.

The pressure on global supply chains to engage in ethical practices is increasing. Since the arrival of COVID-19, there have been more than two dozen new regulations proposed or enacted in the U.S. and Europe that require greater supply chain visibility, according to Leonardo Bonanni, founder and chief executive officer of Sourcemap. He joins us on this episode to discuss how to ensure due diligence over the entire supply chain, including by partners that reach all the way back to the raw materials stage. Companies face heavy penalties, not to mention damage to brand reputation, for selling products that were made with forced labor or in an environmentally irresponsible way. They must be able to audit and verify suppliers at every tier of production. Expect the challenge to get even tougher in the years ahead. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
